FrontPac continues its path of expanding its operations by investing in new machines. Despite covid-19, FrontPac has had a large demand for packaging. 40 million SEK is now being invested in new production equipment, including an in-line corrugated board machine.

The investment enables a doubling of capacity
In Arlöv FrontPac manufactures packaging that customers fill with goods all around Europe. To stand strong for future expansion, another in-line corrugated board machine has been ordered from Bobst in Switzerland to the factory in Arlöv, which means a doubling of capacity. At the same time, an equipment is ordered that enables the production of pre-printed liner. This means that FrontPac can enter markets like e-commerce packaging and transport-oriented corrugated packaging. Production Manager Claus Dalgaard is responsible for creating the plan for how the installation of the new equipment should be executed without disturbing the daily operation. The machines will be put into operation at the beginning of 2021.
“Our main business is offset-printed corrugated packaging, but now we will also be able to offer customers a simpler printing method that is good for large series. The same equipment can be used for digital printing on a roll, which we believe will be the future” says Jesper Ladelfa, Marketing- and Sales Manager at FrontPac.
In recent years, FrontPac has acquired a number of companies in Sweden, which has made this continued expansion possible. The company has doubled its turnover in six years and has set its sights on another doubling.
Proximity to customers an advantage during pandemics
FrontPac is close to the customers, which has proven to be an advantage during the world’s lock-downs. Deliveries have been secured thanks to large security stocks of paper and efficient work among staff to minimize the risk of infection spreading. Unlike many industries and companies that were negatively affected during the pandemic, FrontPac has been standing strong. The pandemic has led to new inventions that have gone well during this period, while certain segments have continued to go well. Now FrontPac is ready to take on even larger assignments with the doubled production capacity.

During the spring, FrontPac launched a number of new products. Some examples are a pizza-sleeve in cardboard that replaces the plastic bag, a take-away lunch box that makes it easy to take the food home and a climate-smart protective visor for healthcare staff. The visor is something FrontPac is especially proud of as it has a price picture that is significantly lower than others on the market.
