FrontPac has developed a new take-away package with unique features that make it easier for both restaurant and customer. The most distinctive feature is that several boxes can be stacked on top of each other and carried in one handle. The take-away box is being tested this week by the Italian restaurant La Greppia in Lomma when they donate 400 portions of food to Lund University Hospital.
More restaurants are investing in take away
It is tough for the country's restaurants as a result of the covid-19 pandemic and more restaurants are investing in take away. The packaging has therefore aroused interest from several business, says Martin Enocson, who is the CEO of FrontPac and the initiator behind the project. One of the companies that tested the box is Eatery, a high-class restaurant chain in Stockholm that last week ran a campaign where they run food with Taxi Stockholm to companies. The pilot turned out well and now Eatery is preparing a wider launch, says a satisfied Peter Erlandsson, CEO of Eatery Sweden.
- Their challenge is that the food should come out warm to the customers and our corrugated packaging helps to keep the food warm and it is easy to handle and pack. In addition, they avoid return handling of plastic trays that are otherwise used. Several boxes can easily be stacked on top of each other and carried in by the driver in just one handle, says Martin Enocson.
The take away box is tested together with La Greppia
The Italian restaurant La Greppia in Lomma sees the benefits of the take-away box and chooses to use it when they donate 400 portions of food to Lund University Hospital. A food delivery of this size can cause some logistical problems and is therefore an excellent opportunity to test a solution where they do not have to carry each package separately.
- The drawers were easy to assemble and handle, says Babak Ghassemali, one of the co-owners of La Greppia. If you have ever folded a pizza box, this is just as easy to assemble, he says.

A take-away box with unique features
The take away box is designed by Linnea Bondesson who is a packaging designer at FrontPac. She is used to turning ideas into packaging.
- What is unique and a great advantage of the take-away boxes is that they can be stacked several boxes on top of each other and carried in one handle. They are also designed so that it is quick and easy to fold them into a finished box. It is possible to adapt the box to the customer's needs, such as the desired size of the box and material thickness based on how heavy the dishes are. The box is of course sustainably produced and completely recyclable, says Linnea Bondesson.
